Something I struggled with for years, and still do from time to time, are my self-limiting beliefs. Picture the popular devil on one shoulder and angel on the other, but instead it’s a mean-girl self on one side and the soulful, goddess self on the other.
That mean-girl self spouts limiting beliefs in your ear just loud enough to throw you. She says things like: “You aren’t good enough”, “they won’t like what you have to offer”, “you can’t do that, you will fail”, etc. None of that is true, but yet we listen to it.
This is where positive daily affirmations is key.
I’ve found that if we consciously switch those narratives to something your goddess-self would say, those mean-girl beliefs slowly diminish.
Below are some of my mean-girl beliefs and what I change the narrative to:
“You aren’t good enough.” to simply “I am worthy of happiness.”
“They won’t like what you have to offer” to “What I have to offer is unique and can positively impact others.’’
“You can’t do that, you will fail” to “I am capable of doing extraordinary things.”
This didn’t happen overnight, but it got easier to notice when I had those limiting beliefs and then I could consciously change the narrative.
“I am beautiful, I am strong, I am capable, I am worthy.”
What are some of your self-limiting beliefs? How can you switch the narrative and lead with your soulful, goddess-self?
Combine this awareness with daily affirmations every morning to really jump-start your day. Repeat these Daily Affirmations to yourself while looking in the mirror OR work them into your morning meditation.
“I am beautiful, I am strong, I am capable, I am worthy.”
