If you get easily overwhelmed by various eyeshadow tutorials or the number of eye shadow colors that are out there, you aren’t alone. I can’t tell you how many tutorials I’ve watched that show a look but only works if you have said products. Then that makes you go and spend money on more products that you may not even need! Well, I’m happy to say, after learning this technique I’m about to share with you, those days are over. This easy eyeshadow technique is only 4 steps AND can be applied to any makeup palette.
L.O.V.E Technique
As I mentioned before, I got very overwhelmed watching all kinds of tutorials. My solution was to just wing it! Apply a very neutral shade and call it a day. Since I’ve learned this technique, my confidence had dramatically increased. I know without a doubt that if you follow these four steps, you will end up with a fire look! This technique is call the L.O.V.E Technique.
The L.O.V.E Technique is a four-step process of applying four different shades to specific parts of the lid. I’ll break down this technique below!
L-Level Your Base:
Apply a light, matte eyeshadow color (similar to your skin tone) all over your lid. Use a fluffy brush to apply and carry the color into your crease and onto your brow bone. This covers any imperfections and provides a smooth ‘canvas’ during application.
O-Ombre In Crease:
Create an ombre effect in your crease using a shade slightly darker than the previous one. Use a fluffy brush to apply it to your crease and blend using a windshield wiper motion. Your crease is between your brown bone and your lid. If you have hooded eyes you may want to bring this color a little higher so it can be seen when you your eyes are open. This takes some practice and I’ve learned that if you aren’t happy with how it looks, keep blending!
V-V In The Outer V:
Add definition to your look by adding a darker, matte shade to the outer V of your eye. Use a more narrow, flat brush and stamp where you want the color, then blend with the fluffy brush. Take this color half way across your lower lash line to round out the look. Blend blend blend!
E-Enhance the Lid:
Complete the look by adding a matte or shimmer shade to the middle and inner lid. Use your finger to pat the shade where you want it. Use a fluffy brush to gently blend the edges if necessary.
I used the Silver Playdate Mini Palette, pictured above. Mini palettes are my new favorite because it simplifies the process of choosing which shades to use.
That’s it! All that’s left is to apply mascara and/or lashes! My absolute favorite is Pump It Up, Maggie Mascara. It is a 4-1 mascara infused with castor oil to promote strength and growth. You’ll thank me later! 🙂

I hope this new technique helps elevate your look and gives you that extra boost in confidence! Give it a try using the eyeshadow shades you already have and let me know how it goes!
