Top 5 Instagram Accounts For New Moms

As a new mom, I can attest to the flood of new information that is received during the 4th trimester. To be honest, I didn’t really know how to prepare for the 4th trimester. I was so focused on welcoming my sweet baby here that I didn’t have time to figure that out. Now that I’m in the middle of the 4th trimester, I can say that I’ve learned a lot about recovery, carrying for baby, and baby milestones. The most reliable information I received didn’t come from “Dr Google”, it came from certified coaches, doulas, and specialists. Luckily, they all have a presence on social media so their content is accessible 24/7! Below are my top 5 Instagram accounts that every new mom needs to follow.

Tranquility by HeHe

If you are looking for a course that will help prepare you for birth and beyond, follow Tranquility by HeHe. She is a certified doula with a Masters degree in Human Development and Family Studies and shares relevant, data-driven data on every aspect of pregnancy. She runs a program called The Birth Lounge, which is a self-guided course on everything you need to know about pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Each video is anywhere from 4 to 25 minutes each, so you can easily pick up where you left off. The Birth Lounge is only open a couple times a year so be sure to get on the waitlist if you are thinking about joining.

Once you join the Birth Lounge, you gain access to her Facebook group. In the group, you can ask any questions and HeHe will answer! You will also be surrounded by women in the group who are going through similar things and can offer their own advice as well! I absolutely love this community because it’s a safe place to ask any and all questions, nobody will judge you. It’s also much safer to ask your questions in the group rather than Google, trust me. If you feel like you need extra support during birth, HeHe and her team will be there for you! Since they are in high demand, you need to book them asap! Ask you can see, I can’t say enough good things about HeHe and the Birth Lounge. Give her a follow, you won’t regret it!

Baby Sleep Dr.

Baby sleep has been one of the most important aspects to learn about as a new mom. As you already know, newborns sleep most of the time with their ‘wake-window’ being a very short amount of time. Next thing you know their ‘wake window’ gets longer and they get more fussy. Baby Sleep Dr., Dr. Aubrie, shares amazing tips and tricks to getting your little one to sleep, from newborn to toddler stage. There is a ton of info for free, but if you want to dive in further she offers sleep guides for newborns up to 3 years of age. Check out her Highlights on her Instagram page babysleepdr for helpful Q&A sessions that she has done. They are super helpful!

Baby Feeding Development

Another important aspect of 4th trimester is baby feeding! This is something that I personally did not fully prepare for as a new mom. Breastfeeding may be something that you may have to work at right after your little one is born. I sure did! For some, their milk supply comes in full swing, while others need to try different things to get milk supply up. Sometimes milk supply just doesn’t come in and formula feeding becomes the best option, and that’s okay! That is what I ultimately did for my new babe and I’ve learned that a fed baby is the most important thing. Laney, from Baby Feeding Development shares super helpful tips for breastfeeding and formula feeding your new babe! From feeding schedules to comparing breast pumps to comparing bottle types, she covers it all! As your little one gets older and you start introducing food, Laney shares helpful advice for this as well! The market is flooded with baby feeding products and as a certified lactation consultant, Laney shares her top recommendations.

Raising Little Talkers

I came across Raising Little Talkers on Instagram and I’m so glad I did! Melissa is a baby and toddler speech therapist who offers great advice on how to communicate with our littles from baby to toddler years. I found this page super helpful for what to expect at each milestone and how to support him on his own journey to talking. Any way we can make communicating with our babe a little easier, especially in the beginning phases of talking, will make it that much more fun! I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned from Melissa and hope this page supports you on your journey with your babe too!

Big Little Feelings

This page, Big Little Feelings, is centered around toddlers age 1-6 years old and navigating those big feelings. This mom of toddlers and child therapist breaks down real situations where your little one may show some big feelings and how to navigate them in a positive way.

She offers a ton of free guides such as a discipline guide, tantrum guide, and pacifier guide. If you want to dive in further, she offers a course called Winning the Toddler Stage: Ages 1-6. Oh, and there is also a new course available now called Potty Training Made Simple. I will definitely be checking out these guides when my own little ones come of age.

I hope these 5 Instagram accounts will help you navigate wherever you are in your journey through motherhood. As a new mom, referencing these accounts on social media instead of using Google to find answers has been super helpful. They have been a solid source I can trust! I’m sure there are a bunch of other helpful Instagram accounts I haven’t found yet, but I’ll add them to this list when I do! What are some Instagram accounts that you found to be helpful? Let me know!
